4th Sunday in Lent

 

 

Welcome to this weeks Sunday Focus, we pray you will be blessed.

 

Yesterday, Saturday 14th March over 100 ladies from across the borders and beyond met for the annual Heart For God conference. The theme was deeply rooted in love based on the words of Ephesians 3:14-21  and we watched an overview of the book of Ephesians from The Bible Project.

 
The songs below are some of the ones we sang yesterday.

At the start of worship a children's book was mentioned called Pippa and the Singing Tree.

Ephesians 3:14-21

A prayer for the Ephesians

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Father God, we thank you for all those who  have 'mothered' us. Whether they are our birth mothers or other women who have supported us and helped us to grow in our faith.

Help us to remain rooted in your love so that we have the power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Thank you that we are able to gather together to worship you and to learn more about your word in freedom, whether at a conference or in a church or in our homes. 

We pray for all your people around the world who do not have that freedom and live in fear. May they know your strength and protection.
