Trinity Sunday

Welcome to this weeks Sunday Focus, we pray you will be blessed.
Psalm 8 1-4

Hymn -  Praise To The Lord

Song -  The Splendour of the King

Holy God,
faithful and unchanging:
enlarge our minds with the knowledge of your truth,
and draw us more deeply into the mystery of your love,
that we may truly worship you,

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Amen

Genesis 1:1-2

The Beginning

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Song -  Spirit of God Unseen as the Wind

Reading

Matthew 28:16-20
The Great Commission

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I am with you until the end of the age – Jesus brings us full circle from the first words in Genesis, showing us God in God's fullness as Creator, Christ and Spirit there in the beginning and with us now and forever more. The Word there in the beginning and there at the end.

Jesus, who is given all authority and shows us how to live lives of fulness and Godly rhythm, commissions us to make disciples – to be part of the ongoing rhythm empowering all to live and express God's love and care in all its fulness toward all creation.

Song -  Facing a Task Unfinished

Dear God,
Creator and Maker –
You looked upon all that You created and shaped and declared it good.
Even in our goodness, we get it wrong,
So, we confess now -
that there have been times when we distanced ourselves from Your presence,
stepped out of sync with Your grace and mercy.
In Your great love for us O God,
May we know the life-giving power of You our Maker,
The saving and healing mercy of You our Saviour,
The peaceful presence and sustaining grace of You our Comforter.
We are forgiven and loved
By the God of all the universe,
Three yet one,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
With us and loving us until the very end of the age. Amen

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Song -  Across The Lands

Go now into the world,
where Jesus Christ is waiting and calling us to make disciples,
may your feet walk in the paths our Saviour lays before us.
Go now into the world,
where the Spirit is living and moving,
may your life and work be in step with the rhythms of God -
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
ever loving Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Amen
